Privacy Policy
Accent Letter is operated by an independent publisher. This policy explains, in plain language, what happens to information when you use the site. The short version: the site has no accounts, sets no cookies of its own, and the tools run entirely inside your browser.
What we collect
Nothing that identifies you. There is no sign up, no login, no newsletter list and no form that asks for your name. You can copy characters, use the text tools and read every guide without giving up a single detail about yourself.
Like any website, the server that delivers these pages processes technical request data such as your IP address, the page requested, the time of the request and your browser user agent. That happens at the hosting layer and is described under third parties below.
The only information you deliberately send is an email, if you choose to write to us. In that case we hold your message and your address for as long as it takes to answer, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you follow up.
localStorage
Two features remember things for you: recently copied characters and favourites. Both are stored in your browser localStorage, which is a small storage area belonging to your own device and browser profile.
That data never leaves your machine. It is not transmitted to a server, not synced between your devices and not visible to us. You can wipe it at any time by clearing site data for accentletter.com in your browser settings, or by using your browser private mode, where it disappears when the window closes.
The text tools, such as Remove accents from text, work the same way. Text you paste is processed by JavaScript in the page and is never uploaded anywhere.
Analytics
We may use privacy friendly aggregate analytics, specifically Cloudflare Web Analytics, to see which pages are read and which are not. It sets no cookies, does not fingerprint your device and does not build a profile of you across sites or sessions. What it produces is a count: page views, referrers and rough country level location, all aggregated. There is no way for us to single you out in it.
Cookies
The site itself sets no cookies. No advertising cookies, no analytics cookies, no preference cookies. This is why you do not see a consent banner. If that ever changes, the banner will arrive before the cookie does, and this policy will be updated first.
Third parties
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, so Cloudflare acts as the hosting and network provider and processes request data, including IP addresses, in order to serve the pages and protect against abuse. Their own privacy terms apply to that processing.
There is currently no advertising on this site. If that changes, this policy will be updated to say exactly who is involved and what they receive, before any advertising appears.
Character data comes from the Unicode Standard and is bundled into the site itself, so browsing a character page does not call an outside service.
Children
The site is suitable for general audiences, including students. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included, because it does not collect personal information at all.
Changes
This policy may be updated when something about the site changes, for example a new tool or a new provider. The date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be described clearly rather than slipped in.
