How to type Þ

Windows
- Alt code
- Hold Alt, type Alt+0222 on the numeric keypad, release Alt.
- Alt codes need the numeric keypad with Num Lock on. On a laptop without one, use the Word method or copy the character.
- Alt+X in Word and Outlook
- Type 00DE then press Alt+X. The code turns into Þ.
- US-International keyboard
- With the US-International layout enabled: Shift+AltGr+T.
- Character Map
- Open Character Map (search “charmap” in the Start menu), find Þ, click Select then Copy.
Google Docs: Insert > Special characters, then type “capital thorn” or draw Þ. Your operating system shortcut also works inside Docs.
Mac
- Option key
- There is no Option shortcut for Þ on the US keyboard layout.
- Press and hold
- Þ does not appear in the press-and-hold menu of the English keyboard.

- Switch to ABC Extended (System Settings > Keyboard > Input Sources) and press Shift+Option+T.
- Unicode Hex Input
