Typing Irish on your keyboard
Irish needs only five letters, á é í ó ú, but none of them has a key of its own: on the Irish and UK Extended layouts you hold AltGr and press the vowel, adding Shift for the capital. The fada changes meaning, so leaving it off turns Seán into sean and féar into fear. On a plain US or UK layout use the Alt codes, the US-International apostrophe dead key or the copy buttons here.
Hard to type on the Irish / United Kingdom Extended QWERTY layout
