Typing Polish on your keyboard
The "Polish (programmers)" layout is a plain US QWERTY: every Polish letter needs AltGr. AltGr+a c e l n o s z give ą ć ę ł ń ó ś ż, AltGr+x gives ź, and capitals add Shift. Nothing sits on a key of its own, so a mis-switched layout (Ctrl+Shift or Win+Space) instantly kills all nine letters. If AltGr is unavailable or you are abroad on a UK, German or US keyboard, use the Alt codes, Mac and mobile methods here.
